Dare to Ask Your Partner

Before starting a sexual relationship, ask your partner the following information

Getting to know your partner is very important.

Here are questions that you can ask him/her:

  1. How many sexual partners he/she has had in the past?

  1. When was the last time he/she had any sexual contact with someone else?
  2. If he/she used a condom every time he/she had sexual contact with previous partners?

  1. If he/she has ever been tested for: HIV, Gonorrhea, Chlamydia or other sexually transmitted infections?

  1. What would he/she do in the case of pregnancy?

If your partner does not answer your questions, then you should think twice about having sexual contact, because he/she may be putting you at risk.

If you have any questions you can call the Sexual Health Clinic at (519) 258-2146 ext 1200 or 1201 to talk to a nurse.
