Are you ready? Ask Yourself

Are you ready to have a sexual relationship?

Here are questions that you can ask yourself:

  1. What are my values and my beliefs regarding sexuality?

  1. What do I want in a relationship?

  1. Do I feel comfortable talking about sex with my partner?

  1. What does sex mean to me?

  1. Is sex important to me?

  1. Do I want to be in love before I have sex?

  1. What are the risks involved with sex?

  1. Do I know how to protect myself?

  1. Do I want to have sex? If so, why?

  1. If I have sex now, how will I feel about it afterwards? Will I regret it?

  1. How would I feel if I have sex with my partner and then we break up?

  1. What would I do in case of a pregnancy?

If you have difficulty answering any of these questions you may not be ready for sex.  In order to make good decisions about relationships and sexual health you have to know yourself, know your partner, and be informed.

If you have any questions you can call the Sexual Health Clinic at (519) 258-2146 ext 1200 or 1201 to talk to a nurse.
