What is recess revival?
Heart Health Action Windsor – Essex (HHAWE) is a coalition of community groups working together to improve the heart health of local residents by addressing three major heart health factors.
These factors are:
1. Heart disease;
2. Tobacco use,
3. Healthy eating/physical activity.
To assist in increasing physical activity levels in children, by “revving up” recess, HHAWE offered one-time grants on a first come, first serve basis to local elementary schools. HHAWE hopes to provide all schools with the opportunity to fund their Recess Revival projects over the next few years.
