Smartrisk Canada's Five Safety Messages:
- Get Trained: Take a certified safety course.
- Wear the Gear: It's the law, you must wear a helmet. Also, wear goggles and protective clothing.
- Drive Sober: The law is clear. Impaired driving is illegal for cars, boats, snowmobiles, and ATVs.
- Buckle up: Chin straps on helmets, gloves, and any other buckles or snaps on gear and clothing need to be buckled.
- Look First: Stay aware of your surroundings. Know the terrain and where you are going. Take a cell phone. Let others know where you are. Be prepared. Do a pre-ride inspection of your vehicle. Carry an emergency kit.
