Teach Your Children to Think Positively
Whether we're aware or not we continually send messages to ourselves. Usually the first message we send ourselves is negative (or bad). If we think negative we usually start to feel negative. In order to stop this negative thinking, we need to immediately change this negative thought to a positive thought. You can help your child change negative thoughts to positive ones.
Show your child how to do this by talking out loud and changing your negative thoughts. Your child will then follow in your footsteps and be positive to himself. Here are some examples:
"I can't do that!" --- "This is hard but I'll keep trying!"
"I never do it right!" --- "I didn't do as well as I could have. If I work harder I'll do better!"
"Nobody likes me!" --- "Some people are mean to
me but Sally likes me!"
