Quit smoking programs for CAW Workplaces

As part of the Smoke Free Ontario Strategy, the Health Unit received special funding from the Ministry of Health Promotion to develop and implement an innovative workplace quit smoking project for CAW locals in our area.  Health Unit staff are working with the leadership of CAW locals and/or representatives from their respective employers to develop comprehensive strategies that meet the specific needs of each workplace and its’ employees, retirees and family members. Through this approach, the Health Unit will be able to reach over 64 000 local residents with the quit message.

A number of program components have been developed including:

  • Health Fairs
  • Self-help resources
  • Lunch and Learn seminars
  • Quit and Win contests
  • Workplace consultations
