Quit Smoking

Up one level

Quitting smoking is described by many ex-smokers as the most difficult thing they've ever done. Nicotine, the addictive ingredient in tobacco, has been characterized as more addictive than cocaine. Unfortunately, smoking affects different people differently, meaning that there's no one method of quitting smoking that is guaranteed to work for everyone. As a result, most smokers go through a process of trial and error until they find a technique that works for them. Health Canada reports that it takes the average smoker between 7 and 9 attempts to quit before they successfully kick the habit.
