Smoke Free Ontario Act

The province of Ontario has made a commitment to the health of all Ontarians with the enactment of the Smoke Free Ontario (SFO) Act on May 31st,  2006.  The entire province of Ontario is now 100% smoke-free in all enclosed public places and all enclosed workplaces.

The SFO Act has replaced two pieces of provincial legislation; the Tobacco Control Act (TCA) and the Smoking in the Workplace Act.

To learn more about how the SFO Act affects you at work and in the community, visit the Ministry of Health Promotion's website to view one of the many fact sheets available.  This website can be accessed under "Fact Sheets"  in the  "Related Contents" section of this site.
