Daily Walk the Dog and Win! tip

Places to Walk in Windsor-Essex County

Both you and your dog will eventually get bored of the same walking route. Staying motivated and committed to a walking program requires variety. Why not explore the following areas with your dog before the cold weather hits?

City of Windsor

  • Ojibway Nature Centre - located on Matchette Road, north of Windsor Raceway. This nature centre features a variety of trails ranging in distance from 2 to 5 kilometres.
  • Windsor Riverfront - If you haven't been downtown lately, it is worth a trip! The riverfront has a beautiful, fully paved trail that starts at the Ambassador Bridge and goes down to Hiram Walker.

County of Essex

  • Chrysler Canada Greenway - This 42 kilometre trail runs from Tecumseh (intersection of Walker Rd. and Highway #3) south all the way to Ruthven! It passes through Harrow and Kingsville. Check out a map at www.erca.org.
  • LaSalle Trails - LaSalle is interconnected by a beautiful trail system. Check out a map at www.town.lasalle.on.ca

Fun Fact: Ontario has over 64,000 km of trails and approximately 800,000 Ontarians use them.
