While more expensive, shower and changing rooms can impact the way your employees get to work. Not only can bike commuters use the showers, but those employees who walk, run, or like to go to the gym before work or during lunch breaks can use the facility as well. Such a convenience is an invaluable bonus to the working environment.

Shower facilities should be secure, close to bike parking, and contain hairdryers, soap, shampoo, an iron and ironing board.  Locker facilities should be large enough to accomodate towels, toiletries, and a change of clothing.

If providing shower facilities is not possible in your workplace, check the local area for businesses you can team up with.  Is there a YMCA or fitness facility near your workplace? You may be able to take advantage of a corporate discount.
