Installing Bike Racks
A good way to motivate your employees to bike to work is to provide them with a safe place to park their bikes when they do.

Bicycle Parking
When considering bike parking options, speak with your employees. Bike parking should be consistent with the needs of your workplace.
Types of Bike Parking:

Post and Ring bike rack

Multi-unit bike rack
- Bike Bank (which can also store bike helmets)
- Veritical wall hanging racks
- Fenced off area (with or without bike racks)
- Outside covered area
- Indoor storage room (can be created using a converted closet and can be created with or without bike racks)
- Bike lockers
Installing bike parking:
- Bike racks should be installed no more than 15 metres from the building.
- Bike racks should be installed in well lit, highly visible locations so they can be viewed from an entrance or a window.
- Bike racks should be securely anchored into the ground.
