Bike Friendly Workplace Awards

What is a Bike Friendly Workplace Award?
A bike friendly workplace award can be awarded to any workplace in Windsor and Essex County based on the level of support they provide to employees who choose to commute to work by bicycle. A bike friendly workplace award is an excellent way for a workplace to gain recognition and media attention for their efforts.

How can a workplace qualify for an award?
Workplaces can be awarded a Gold, Silver, or Bronze level award based on their fulfillment of four unique bike friendly workplace categories: Promotion, Education, Facilities, and Incentives.
Promotion -The workplace must promote cycling as a way to commute to work. This can be done through promoting external "Bike to Work" contests, or by promoting cycling through posters, e-mail messages, pay-stub messages, etc.
Education - The workplace must provide educational materials, or educational opportunties about cycling for their employees.
Facilities - The workplace must provide facilities, such as bicycle racks, showers, and lockers for cycling employees.
Incentives - The workplace must provide incentives for cyclists, such as internal bike to work contests, prizes, flex time, or other valuable incentives.
To receive a Gold level award, workplaces must fulfill all four categories. To receive a Silver level award, workplaces must fulfill any three of the four categories. To receive a Bronze level award, workplaces must fulfill any two of the four categories.
How can a workplace nominate themselves for an award?
