Did You Know?

  • One in five Canadians believe they know a senior who's experiencing some form of abuse (e.g., physical, emotional, and financial) (Government of Canada, 2009).

 

  • It's estimated that seven percent of Canadian women experience some type of violence (e.g., physical or sexual assault) by their partner (Statistics Canada, 2006).

 

Violence is a serious public health problem.  From infants to the elderly,  it affects people in all stages of life.
