- Children and youth are most at risk for cycling injuries (SMARTRISK, 2009).
- Head injuries are common cycling injuries. Wearing a properly fitted helmet reduces the risk of brain injuries by 88% and head injuries by 85% (SMARTRISK, 2009) .
Cycling is a great way to get active, and for some people it's their main form of transportation. Whatever gets you pedaling, safety always comes first.
The risk of injury while cycling is always there, but you can prevent injuries by making smart choices.
