Nurse Practitioner Clinic

The Nurse Practitioner Clinic is available in Windsor and Leamington. Clients are seen by appointment only.

Cost: A free service for pregnant women, new mothers and their children (less than 6 years of age) who do not have a family doctor. 

A valid Ontario Health Card is required for laboratory and diagnostic tests coverage.

Clients without a health card will be charged for laboratory and diagnostics tests, by the facility.

 

Windsor Clinics:

  • Windsor clinic is located at the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit at 1005 Ouellette Avenue, Windsor, ON N9A 4J8
  • Monday to Thursday: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Most Wednesdays are designated for county sites
  • Friday: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • Clients are seen by appointment only.

 

Leamington Clinics:

  • Leamington clinic is located in the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit at 215 Talbot Street East, Leamington, ON N8H 3X5 
  • Wednesdays: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Clients are seen by appointment only.

 

Who Can Attend?

  • Women who are planning a pregnancy or who are pregnant and do not have a family doctor.
  • New mothers and their children (less that 6 years old) who do not have a family doctor.
  • Unable to offer men’s health.
  • Clients must live within Windsor and Essex County.

 

Booking an Appointment:

  • Windsor Site, please call 519-258-2146, ext. 1225.
  • Leamington Site, please call 519-326-5716, ext. 1225.
  • Referrals are accepted from doctors, other health care professionals, community agencies and clients themselves.
  • If you are unable to keep your appointment, kindly give 24-hour notice.

 

Services include:

  • Initial prenatal contact, with transfer to an obstetrician for ongoing care and delivery.
  • Postnatal care for mom and new baby up to two (2) years of age.
  •  Well-baby and well-child check-ups.
  • Health promotion and education.
  • Growth and development screening for infants and young children.
  • Screening for potential health problems.
  • Assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of common health conditions such as ear infections, and rashes.
  • Referrals to specialists, community programs, and supportive services.
  • Services are provided in a relaxed, confidential atmosphere.
  • The Nurse practitioner does not offer emergency services.
