Handouts

Up one level
Everyone has strong feelings and all feelings are okay. What’s important is how these feelings are expressed. Children aren’t born knowing how to deal with strong feelings. Many toddlers have temper tantrums, hit, bite, kick, and stomp their feet when they are angry. Parents need to teach children better ways to express their feelings.
The Activity Planner helps parents track their child’s TV time and physical activity level. It helps parents determine if a problem exists so that they can plan actions to decrease TV time and increase physical activity.
Siblings are brothers and sisters. They can be best friends one minute and enemies the next. Sibling relationships are important and when children fight, it upsets the whole family.
Every child is different when it comes to toilet learning. Parents worry when other chldren learn to use the toilet earlier than their own child.
Why is self-esteem important? Self-esteem is how you feel about yourself. If your child's self-esteem is good, your child will be: more confident, more giving, happier, able to make friends easier, and able to handle problems better.
Parents can help children feel good about themselves. Love and respect from parents encourages positive behaviour.
A free program for parents, babies and young children.
