Tuberculosis School Screening Clinics

The Tuberculosis School Screening Program is for new Immigrant students and adults who have recently arrived in Canada (less than one year). And for any Canadian student who has lived outside Canada for one year or more and plans to attend Preschool, Elementary, Secondary School, or ESL Schools for adults.

Included in the School Screening Program:

  • TB skin testing- Tuesday the test is performed, Thursday the test is read
  • Immunization evaluation and counseling for ages Jk-18 yrs
  • Dental screening for ages 2-14 yrs.


School Screening Program clinics are free.
Students are seen by appointment only!

Contact the Health Unit @ 258-2146 extensions 1434, 1435, 1436, 1437, or 1437 to make an appointment. A translator/ interpreter must accompany anyone who doesn't understand English.

Immigration papers and Immunization records are also needed. A parent /legal guardian will need to be present to sign consents for their children.

 

Upon completion of the School Screening Program the student will receive a letter to present to the school principal allowing attendance at school as long as immigration requirements have been met.
