The Windsor Essex Health Unit provides this service under the direction of the Ministry of Health Promotion. All Windsor and Essex County elementary schools are screened throughout the school year. Statistical data is collected and forwarded to the Ministry annually. This information allows the Health Unit to assess the dental needs of the community. For example, a school that has a high number of children with dental decay will receive dental education services.
