Health Unit Conducting Survey for Input
Every month, 100 randomly selected adults in Windsor-Essex County aged 18 years and older will be contacted by phone to answer a survey on a variety of public health topics.
The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit wants to confirm that the monthly survey is legitimate and would ask that all those contacted to please participate.
The survey is part of a provincial initiative called Rapid Risk Factor Surveillance System (RRFSS). RRFSS is a flexible, timely, and centralized surveillance system designed to help address provincial data gaps in public health.
The phone survey is voluntary, completely confidential, and takes about 20 minutes to complete. Caller IDs should display “ISR, York University,” but may also indicate “Out of Area” or “Private Number,” depending on the phone service provider.
Data collected from public health surveys assist the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit to prioritize health issues, direct operational plans or activities, measure effectiveness of strategies, and monitor progress and trends over time. It is a cost-effective and responsive way of understanding and adapting to our community.
