Human Resources Officer Board Report
Recruitment for a variety of positions is ongoing throughout the month of May (handout to be provided). We were fortunate to receive resumés from many qualified individuals for the Epidemiologist position. The Senior Management team is conducting interviews with five people for this very important position. The West Nile Virus Assistant will commence the third week of May. We have a new Public Health Inspector joining us on May 14th. She is coming from the London-Middlesex Health Unit. We are adding a Public Health Nurse to our Infectious Communicable Disease Department as well.
The Policy and Procedure Committee has resumed their meetings in order to address the writing and reviewing of many administrative and corporate policies.
The Vitality Committee is planning some springtime events that correspond with some of the Workplace Wellness initiatives. We are joining together with the Social Committee to have a Picnic that will include healthy food choices. This is an internal fund-raising event however with a focus on promoting the well being of the staff. There will be more details to follow.
There are no grievances from CUPE and one grievance with ONA that is being discussed at
Step 2. This step includes discussion with the Director of the Division and the Union representatives.
The Windsor Health and Safety Committee met with the Essex Committee to discuss joint issues and review terms of reference and policies.
The Non-Union Job Evaluation Committee met this month to review a number of positions.
